A breakdown of the different types of Gloves – Part 1

The Importance of Gloves

Welcome to our series on gloves! There is so much information on gloves, that we have decided to make a series about them! I know…riveting stuff! But there are a lot of things you probably didn’t know about wearing gloves. For example, did you know that wearing any type of glove has been proven not only to provide some sort of protection for your hands, but it also helps in preventing the spread of airborne diseases? Take a look at these different kinds of work gloves to determine which pair is right for you, and remember to keep an eye out for our next post!

String Knit Gloves

These are all purpose gloves for light tasks, but for those dirtier jobs heavy weight string knit gloves are available. They are “cool and comfortable!” Knit glove fabrics help protect the skin from organophosphorus insecticides. Insecticides are not only used in the prevention of insects but also in the fields of agriculture, medicine, and many more. These insecticides can be harmful to the skin, and they are more prominent in your everyday life than you might think. 7-cut knit gloves are especially effective in preventing the absorption of organophosphorus insecticides. Popular brands include Anchor and Memphis Glove!

Cotton Canvas Gloves

They are industry’s most popular general-purpose work gloves, offering light-duty protection in automotive plants, the food industry, and for general material and parts handling. They are comfortable and lightweight. Anchor makes many practical models for many uses, such as these Heavy Weight Canvas Gloves. Anchor is one of the most popular brands of cotton canvas gloves.

Coated Gloves

Most coated gloves provide liquid resistance. They also provide some degree of chemical and cut protection as well as good abrasion resistance. There are several types of coated gloves:

Nitrile coated gloves often have a contoured fit and are usually machine washable. They are economical, yet they provide excellent protection!

Latex gloves can be the most economical choice, but they have a very wide range of quality. Either way you slice it, they still provide excellent protection. However, the cheaper ones are not safe after several uses. Higher quality latex gloves such as theMemphis Premium Latex Gloves, are certainly out there to be had. For the highest quality latex gloves around, however, have a look at the Memphis Flex-Tuff II Latex Gloves.

HyFlex® Lite from Ansell offers maximum tactile sensitivity and dexterity. They are also designed with a smooth finish. Probably one of the finer choices for coated gloves. Here is an example of Ansell’s HyFlex® Lite Gloves.

Anchor’s HyLite® Palm Coated Gloves are also a very excellent choice. For extra comfort, features an interlock lining, generous sizing, and a contoured design, this is definitely the place to go! Have a look for yourself!

Ansell, Anchor, and Memphis Glove are the some of the best brands in the business, and they can be found here!

High Heat Gloves

With temperature protection up to 900°, high heat gloves offer superior protection against heat! You can even find them lined with 100% wool for added comfort and protection. They are a little pricier, but they are of the finest quality.
