Description

Now You Can Measure Cleanliness

The primary objective of bio-remediation is to physically remove bio-debris or contamination from the surface or substrate of building materials. Bio-Reveal allows the contractor to perform fast and easy tests to verify surface hygiene by measuring the total bio-burden, including fungi, bacteria and bio-film.

Benefits to contractors, insurance companies and bio-remediation companies include:

  • Creates valid method for post remediation verification testing
  • Provides quality assurance prior to third-party testing
  • Increases revenue by offering initial project screenings of water damage situations to capture turnkey business
  • Conveys professional credibility and capability
  • Saves time and money by allowing decisions to be made quickly on-site
  • Testing for IICRC S500 Category 1, 2 and 3 Water Loss

The Bio-Reveal bio-contamination detection system is used to determine the level of surface contamination for viable biological matter, primarily bacteria and biofilms, which may be present in contaminated water or on surfaces impacted by Category 1, 2 or 3 water. Bio-Reveal testing provides water loss responders, restoration professionals, remediation contractors and the Indoor Environmental Professional (IEP) the real-time ability to quantify the effects of Category 1, 2 or 3 water loss on building materials and contents, and to provide remediation quality assurance via post remediation verification testing.

The Bio-Reveal system is designed to evaluate the level of bio-burden, surface cleanliness and sanitized hygiene in the indoor environment. The system will measure and document the total surface or liquid conditions where these types of pathogenic organisms may be detected or harbored, or where direct impaction of Category 1, 2 or 3 water contamination may have occurred. It is not designed to detect specific strains of bacterial, viral or other micro-organisms. The Bio-Reveal bio-contamination detection system can also be used to generally quantify the total bacterial concentrations of Category 1, Category 2 and Category 3 water as referenced by the IICRC S500 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration.

Testing for IICRC S520 Condition 1, 2 and 3 Mold Contamination

The Bio-Reveal bio-contamination detection system is used to determine the level of surface contamination for viable fungi, molds, biofilms and related microbial organisms and biological matter. The purpose of the sampling is to determine the level of biological surface contamination of building material and content surfaces that may be impacted by mold growth bioamplification. Bio-Reveal provides water loss responders, restoration professionals, remediation contractors and the Indoor Environmental Professional (IEP) with the real-time ability to quantify the IICRC S520 defined condition of the indoor environment relative to the presence of mold and related biological contamination (Condition 1, 2 or 3 as defined by the IICRC S520 standard).

The Bio-Reveal detection system allows the user the ability to provide quality assurance for the remediation process and post remediation verification testing for cleaned and sanitized building materials and contents that are remaining or being restored. The building materials suitable for Bio-Reveal testing include, but are not limited to, wall studs (metal and wood), concrete, vinyl and ceramic tile, laminate surfaces, stainless steel, masonry materials, plastic, gypsum board or sheetrock, wood sheathing, glass, etc.

    How Bio-Reveal Works

Bio-Reveal measures the chemical compound adenosine triphosphate (ATP) found in all organic matter including fungi, bacteria, somatic cells, plant cells, etc.

ATP is chemically converted into light through the oxidation-reduction reaction. The quantity of light generated is directly proportional to the amount of biological ATP (contamination) present. The amount of light is measured to estimate the biomass of cells in a sample.

    Simple to Use

Collection sampling and accurate measurements occur in four easy steps:

    1. Swab a 4” x 4” surface area with the UltraSnap ATP swab (collects samples on surfaces) or, the AquaSnap swab (collects samples on liquids)

    2. Snap and squeeze

    3. Insert swab into the SystemSure Plus luminometer

    4. Read results. Optionally save to the computer using SureTrend software to track and manage testing results
